What does Glory Look Like?

Think of glory. It is radiant, brilliant, light, and warmth. It is amazing and breath-taking. The definition of doxazo, the Greek word for glory says, “to make glorious, adorn with lustre, clothe with splendour – to render it excellent.”

After enjoying the last supper with His disciples, Jesus began to pray to His Father:

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,”  John 17:1 NKJV

God answered Jesus’s prayer. But before the glory was revealed through the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day, there was great suffering, humiliation, pain, and death in the process.

Have you prayed and asked God to use you for His Glory?

I will admit, there were times when I prayed that prayer of, “God, please use me for Your Kingdom and Your Glory!” Instead of hearing choirs of angels singing and feeling the radiant warmth and presence of God, I experienced rejection. I was lied on, and laughed at. I remember crying out to God, “Why is this happening? This doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t feel glorious!” The beating and crucifixion of my Savior, Jesus Christ didn’t look very glorious either.

In the book of Romans, Paul describes it this way,

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

It is through our trials and tribulations that we experience the true love and power of God. The love that never fails. A love is steadfast, unconditional, far-reaching and overpowering; and an almighty and sovereign power that always remains in control. After making it through by the grace of God, we can share our test as our testimony and the excellence and glory of our Father in Heaven is revealed.

As you meditate on the gift of salvation of Jesus Christ, ask yourself,

“What does glory REALLY look like in my life?”

If you don’t know Jesus, and are curious, please reach out and ask. He died on the cross for each and every one of us. However, you can’t experience this powerful gift until YOU chose to receive it.

God bless you.

Remember, the  good thing about “Good Friday” is that He rose again in 3 days.
